There's An App For That!

It is no secret that I love my I-Phone!

However, I do not have the patience or desire to search through the millions of apps.

I WANT to have lots of apps -- I think it's cool when you have to slide through pages just to find the one you need! :) In fact, we were sitting behind a woman at the rodeo the other night who was going through her apps. I leaned over to Chris and told him how sad I was for her because she could use more apps!!

The best way for me to find a great one is by personal recommendation. My boys tell me all about the games and music ones. My girlfriend tells me about cooking/grocery list ones. My sister tells me about exercising ones. I even have some on my phone that Kelly Ripa suggested!!

But, my favorite ones are the ones that do fun stuff with photos that I take. I have a few...

...like this one that makes everything black and white and then lets you color in one object:

...or this one that lets you morph a picture in all kinds of crazy ways:

But, I found a new one this weekend that I really love!

You can give your photos extra color and frame it in a vignette:

...or, you can make the photo look scratched!

...OR, make it look like it is really old and the photo is peeling!
Now, if only I could get my family to pose for a new picture everyday, I'd be in business!!

We Are Now "The Techy Family"

We have had a desktop computer for 15 years or so. There were several times before we would upgrade to a newer, more powerful computer that we would call our computer bad names!

By the first week of December, I was ready to throw ours out the window because it was so slow and messed up -- I mean, having to wait for Facebook to come up is reason for such insanity, right?!?

The decision to get a new computer was easy; the decision on what kind of computer brought on an attitude of trepidation. After making a list of pros and cons, we went with a Mac Laptop. I have friends who love their Macs and I have friends who say how they are so hard to figure out after owning a desktop -- Let me just say...,"I LOVE MY MAC!!!"

It is fast, has an awesome program for all my pictures, makes total sense to me, and this whole "Laptop" thing is ingenious!! In fact, I am sitting on my couch typing away!

My main concern was that we would need two laptops to keep our family of four happy. But, Santa took care of that by way of the ITouch and IPhone. The boys got ITouch's for Christmas and I got an IPhone. So, if you should walk up to our house and peek in, this is what you'll see...Connor, Colby and me on the couch each with our handheld device playing games, surfing the web, checking Facebook/e-mails -- and Chris on his chair with the laptop in his lap playing games, surfing the web, checking Facebook/e-mails! We are a NERDY family!

I will have to say that the IPhone may be an even greater invention than my Mac Laptop because it can do it all and fit in my purse. I can leave the house and not worry about changes in baseball schedules because I can check anytime I want. I can play games while sitting in a waiting room or at practice...awesome!!

I now have two concerns: 1. my marriage -- Chris and I have been guilty of "talking" to each other via Facebook while in the same room! 2. which applications to buy next!

This and That

I have what I guess you can call "blogger-block". Not much going on in my life that I feel is worthy of writing...

Life is busy. But not out of the ordinary -- which is good. So here are a couple of random things I will share:

1. I am a HUGE reality-show junkie and The Bachelor is one of my favs! I know, I know! Last night, while watching it, my husband kept rolling his eyes and making little comments about how silly this all is!

WELL...I am doing the Esther Bible Study at church right now and I'll have you know that The Bachelor started way back in 470 B.C! In fact, King Xerxes makes Jason look like a gentleman and a scholar!!! After King Xerxes' first Queen - Queen Vashti -- refused to go and see him and parade around for him in front of his drunk friends, he banished her from him forever and went on an all-out search for a new queen. Any woman who met approval by her province's nobility went to the palace and went on a 12-month beauty regiment! When the King called her, he took her for a night and if she didn't meet his approval, she was gone! Something about Esther melted King Xerxes heart and the search was over. See, sounds like last night's episode, doesn't it?!?

2. After bible study today, I went to a place that my neighbor has been raving about...the $ .99 Store! Wow! What you can buy at the $ .99 Store blows my mind!! See???

All this for $14.00!! Three rolls of wrapping paper, 2 packages of Sunflower Seeds, 2 packages of photo paper, various household cleaners, salt, even an Easter decoration! Come on!! The world doesn't need to be in a financial crises...they just need to shop the $ .99 Store!!!
